CHARTER: Promote fellowship and camaraderie for it’s members common interest in dances or viewing vintage block-buster movies. Additionally, membership that favors BYOB, BYOF, and snack gatherings to meet each other, new members, participate in periodic dances or watch vintage movies in our ballroom. Why the club was created: This is one of the ways Maria and I give back to the community. There is no charge for our service. Have you noticed that you are not familiar with any of the Oscar nominated actors? Are the best movie nominations, movies you have not seen or care to? Have you noticed that the best actor or actress is usually a brand new actor in his her first movie? Great actors of the past made numerous movies before being nominated, least win an Oscar.

Does it seem all movies are computer enhanced with unrealistic car chases and or fights? Do you miss movies that tell a story? Or movies that portray “Crime does not pay” instead of the nicer crooks ending up with the loot? Do you especially miss musicals?

Am I the only one that is shocked that rap gets music awards. Or vocalists today can’t walk up to a microphone and sing a song with minimal back ground music? They have to have a stage full of accompaniment dancing, jumping, and flashing lights and music drowning out their words or they lip-sync. Do you feel that today’s musical movies or plays are revivals or new plays using old music? Is it because they cannot make a musical with today’s music? Have you been to a dance and all the dances are rock?

If you have experienced any or all the above, it may be because our time has passed. However, there is no need to miss the camaraderie, dancing, or great movies. Join the Golden Seniors Club. There will be no meetings, dues, or elections. Just occasional free BYOF and BYOB dances with danceable number one hits from the 40’s, 50’s, and 60’s. Including a few rock and line dances. Alternatively, occasionally showing an old movie at a movie night with movies that members have and are special. I will provide the equipment and operation.
